CodeCraft — free QR code and barcode tools

Last updated: 18 September 2026

These terms govern your use of CodeCraft. Using the site means you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the site.

1. What the service is

CodeCraft provides free, browser-based tools for generating QR codes and barcodes, reading QR codes, and producing codes in batches. The tools are provided as they are, for anyone to use, without registration or payment.

2. Your rights to what you create

Codes you generate belong to you. You may use them for personal or commercial purposes, including on products, packaging and advertising, without attribution, licence fee or notification. CodeCraft claims no rights over the codes you produce or the data you encode in them.

QR code technology is patent-free, and the barcode symbologies supported here are open standards, so no licence is required from anyone to use the generated images themselves.

3. Retail barcode numbers

An important distinction: this site renders barcodes from numbers you supply. It does not issue, register or validate ownership of retail product numbers. EAN and UPC numbers used on products sold through retailers must be licensed from GS1 or an authorised reseller. Printing a number you do not hold rights to is your responsibility, not ours.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the site to:

Because nothing you type is transmitted to us, we cannot see or moderate the codes you create. Responsibility for their content and use rests entirely with you.

5. Intellectual property in the site

The CodeCraft name, design, written guides, layout and source code are owned by Sahil Kumar and protected by copyright. You may not copy, republish or redistribute substantial portions of the site's content or code without written permission. This restriction does not apply to the codes you generate, which are yours.

Open-source libraries used by the site remain the property of their respective authors and are used under their own licences.

6. No warranty

The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any generated code will scan correctly on any particular device or scanning hardware.

Always test a code at its final printed size, on more than one device, before committing it to production.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CodeCraft and Sahil Kumar shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, business or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the site. This expressly includes the cost of reprinting materials containing a code that failed to scan.

Where liability cannot be excluded by law, it is limited to the amount you have paid to use the site, which is zero.

8. Advertising

The site displays advertising, which funds its operation. Ads are supplied by third-party networks and their content is not selected, endorsed or vetted by us. Any dealings you have with an advertiser are solely between you and that advertiser.

9. External links

The site links to external resources, and the scanner can display links encoded in codes you scan. We do not control those destinations and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, security or privacy practices. A link decoded by the scanner is shown to you precisely so that you can evaluate it before deciding to visit it.

10. Availability and changes

We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the site at any time without notice. We may also update these terms; the date at the top shows the last revision, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Haryana, India shall have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have where you live.

12. Contact
